Goertz Railroad Library

Last Wednesday Charlie Goertz and some of his family came in with a whole bunch of wooden boxes containing the library of railroad books that he has donated to the Depot Museum. We're busy cataloguing them now and arranging for new shelving for them in the archives room. A few friends of the Depot came down to greet him and we had a nice afternoon visiting with Charlie and hearing some great railroad stories. One about FDR coming through and pulled by engine 408. Must check that one out. I thought Wm McKinley was the only President to pass through Elgin. The photo shows Charlie with Barbara Stockley, who processed Charlie's earlier photo donations.
