Four milliners in 1914!

In 1914 Elgin had four milliners selling Easter bonnets. ( 1911 population was 1707). All the ladies wore hats in those days.

I've been going through the 1915 Couriers and there are always milliners' ads.

Behemian? I had to go look it up. A form of Romanian...
"It became extinct after World War II, due to extermination of most of its speakers in Nazi concentration camps."

Oh, I guess that's why I didn't recognize it.
